Designer. Tunjung Ismoedi
After graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, USA. Tunjung began his professional pathway in designing consumer products and industrial equipments. His passage brought him design experiences working in several companies in California areas and Avon, Connecticut, where he received several design awards, such as Good Design Award for a Rotozip Spiral Saw product for Bosch Company.
Tunjung has also received patent rights from his colaborative works. After years living abroad, he returned to Indonesia and forayed into rattan and wood-work design which has been his long time passion. His exposure of living in different cultures East and West gives unique perceptions towards design understandings.
He has been making effort to create intercultural influences in his design solutions. Tunjung has been working in collaboration with Medulla creative team, together they have been working on many interior design and architectural projects.
His recent work is a trendy and explorative rattan collection called SURA. The quest is to integrates traditional craft-making process with modern aesthetical point of view, as well as creating different structure configuration, production methods on naturally sourced materials. The results are wide range of unique and sustainable products. Amanoty chair, on of SURA collection receives Singapore Furniture Design Award in 2008
